A resident in Laxey who was due to sell his house is 'absolutely gutted' after river flooding destroyed his newly refurbished home.

 

Severe flooding has been happening since the early hours of this morning in Laxey, Ramsey and the Dhoon, as well as Island-wide flooding near the coast.

 

Mark Young told Energy FM news that flooding has never happened before near his house and how water went straight through the wall and into the building.

 

He says he's spent around £30 - £40, 000 renovating his house to sell it:
