John Tolson

On Air: Monday to Friday - 6am to 10am

John Tolson

John has worked in the radio industry for almost 25 years including spells at the BBC and stations across Yorkshire and the North. He's done all the shifts including late nights and even a country music show for a while but now he's right at home easing you into the new day on The Sound's weekday breakfast show.

Away from the microphone, you'll find him out walking, doing the odd bit of DIY (usually quite badly), tidying the garden and reading - mostly crime novels and autobiographies.

John is a distant relation of Percy Shaw - the inventor of cat eyes in the road and went to the same school as Joseph Priestley - the man who discovered oxygen!
