An expert in population data has said the IOM Government needs 'a clearer policy' on what they want to achieve and how they are going to increase the younger population in seven years time.
Paul Craine, author of 'Manx Population Atlas', has released the latest data from his findings to reveal the number of people aged over 65 on the Island has the highest recorded amount of 18,035 - with an overall 21.41%.
The number of those aged below 65 increased by 83 between the end of March and the end of June, with a total of 66,200, only 83 higher than the 2016 census.
The overall population is estimated to have grown by 128 in the second quarter of 2019, with an estimated total of 84,235, which is below the 2011 census by 260.
According to the data, the Island's population is still ageing, albeit more slowly.
Mr Craine told Energy FM that IOM Government needs a clearer framework in order to increase the younger population by 2026:
