Ramsey MHK to speak at cannabis legalisation debate

Dr Alex Allinson MHK will be speaking at a debate tonight to propose the motion to legalise cannabis for medicinal and recreational use on the Island.

His opponent will be Director of Public Health Dr Henrietta Ewart, challenging his motion of: 'This house believes that the economic and medical advantages of legalising all strains of cannabis in the Isle of Man outweigh the social concerns'.

Earlier this year Dr Allinson called for a well-regulated cannabis market on the Island, which is still being discussed in Tynwald.

The debate will take place tonight at the Palace Hotel and Casino in Douglas from 5:30pm - more information about booking can be found here.
