Tomorrow the annual Employment and Skills Event will take place at the Villa Marina - with this year's theme being 'More Is More.'
Between 9am and 5pm school pupils in Year 9, 11 and Sixth Form will be invited to speak to different businesses and organisations about teamwork, problem solving, communication, the ability to learn (and relearn), resilience, self awareness and many other employability skills.
Recruitment agencies will be available at skills hubs, advising students on how these broad transferable employability skills clearly linked to the DESC Learning dispositions or 6 R's: (resilience, resourcefulness, relationships, readiness, remembering and reflectiveness) can support their understanding of themselves and how this may link to future careers.
However the event isn't just for school pupils, as the event is open to the general public - this event could be an opportunity to look for a new career or talk about returning to work after a life event or time out.
There will also be a chance for school pupils who have completed their Employer Skills grid cards to win a Paragon Recruitment £100 sportswear gift voucher, which will be awarded to one pupil in each school entered into a school draw.
Energy FM spoke to members of the Department of Education, Sport and Culture about the More Is More approach and what will be in store on the day:
