Two advocates sworn in from Simcocks

The Island's Chief Justice has sworn in two new advocates from Simcocks.
 
Faye Devlin and Emily Johnson were admitted to the Isle of Man Bar on 21st November by His Honour Deemster Corlett.
 
Faye joined Simcocks in August 2017, having achieved a Distinction in her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Leeds. She completed a Graduate Diploma in Law at the University in Law at Chester, receiving a Distinction and the highest grade in Criminal Law and the highest overall mark for her year group. Her current role focuses on Family Law, Wills and Estates.
 
Emily joined the firm in May 2019, having passed the Manx Bar exams on her first sitting last year.  She achieved her Graduate Diploma in Law and her Bar Professional Training Course via distance and part time study while she worked, and gained the Dean's Award for top performing student in Advanced Civil Practice, Civil Litigation, Opinion Writing & Professional Ethics at Manchester Metropolitan University.  She has recently been awarded the George Johnson Law Prize 2019 for her article on legal aid.
