Police say drivers should check their tyres on vehicles are suitable for the road after issuing a fine of £120 last night.
Officers said the car was stopped due to a faulty brake light, but on further examination they found one of the front tyres was in bad condition.
The driver of this vehicle was fined and had three points added to their licence.
Police said regular vehicle checks should only take a few minutes - more information about how to check your vehicle is fit for the road can be found on the IOM Police website.
