Yellow and Amber weather warnings tomorrow
Mon, 09 Dec 2019
Yellow and Amber Weather Warnings are in place from tomorrow morning throughout the day.
IOM MET Office said an active weather system will spread across the Island from the west later tonight and a Yellow warning of 50-60 mph winds and up to 65 mph possible in more exposed spots.
Winds are expected to peak between 6am until 2pm.
An Amber warning is in place from 8am tomorrow until quarter past midnight Wednesday, with coastal overtopping expected on coast roads and promenades tomorrow around high tide.
Due to the south to south-southwesterly wind increasing to gale or severe gale force tonight, large waves are expected to affect exposed coastal roads and promenades on Tuesday around the times of high tide.
This will lead to a significant amount of sea water and debris on Shore Road Rushen, Castletown Promenade, the northern end of Douglas Promenade as well as Laxey and Ramsey Promenades.
