Retrofit for the Future Award given to Deb Cripps

The winner of the Department of Environment Food and Agriculture Retrofit for the Future Awards has been granted £5,000 for designing an energy efficient home.
Deb Cripps was presented her prize yesteday by DEFA Minister Geoffrey Boot for her ideas and techniques of increasing the energy efficiency of a 1970s bungalow - a style of residential property which can be found in large numbers across the Island.
Runners up Richard Strivens and Summer Fearnley were both awarded £1,000 for their ideas of energy efficiency upgrades to Victorian style houses and social housing.
