RNLI teams in Peel have honoured a long-serving volunteer for his loyal service and rehomed a boat to Ramsey.
Phillip Simpson, who served for Peel Lifeboats for many years, was awarded a framed photo of the Ruby Clery at a Christmas dinner, presented by Coxswain Mike Faragher and Chairman Stuart Blackley.
The Ruby Clery was recently rehomed to Ramsey, after serving Peel for almost 28 years.
Named in memory of a descendent of the RNLI founder Sir William Hillary, the boat has been stationed in Peel since 1992.
It now replaces Ramsey’s older all-weather lifeboat, RNLB Ann & James Ritchie.
The move comes in anticipation of the arrival of Peel’s new Shannon class lifeboat in spring 2020.
