Prom completion date put back again

The completion date for the refurbishment of Douglas Promenade has been pushed back.

Government officials have confirmed work will be completed on 17th August 2021 rather than in April.

A new set of phasing plans were presented to local residents and businesses at the Palace Hotel last night.

The further delay is because land side work will not be carried out near hotels and businesses during the summer months, from May 1 to September 1.

Speaking to MTTV, Tim Baker MHK says it remains important they listen to local businesses such as hotels during the regeneration process:
