Two police officers have been assaulted by a violent man who was reported by a taxi driver last night.

 

Police said the man in question was drunk on their arrival and is currently in custody under investigation for numerous offences.

 

The Force said they are very grateful for the taxi driver helping the two police officers until more officers arrived.

 

IOM Constabulary are using the incident as an example of adhering to the #DrinkSafeIOM campaign, launched last month ahead of the Christmas period.
