Public consultation on divorce law to close next week

A public consultation on proposed changes to divorce legislation on the Island will close next week.

Last month Daphne Caine MHK for Garff launched the consultation, which outlines a draft Bill called ‘Divorce, Dissolution and Separation (Isle of Man) Bill.

It aims to implement a simpler administrative process to obtain a divorce, dissolution of civil partnership or judicial separation in place of the detailed judicial scrutiny which is associated with the fault-based process currently used on the Island.

The public has until 2nd January to take part.
