Folk gallery to close next week

The folk gallery will be close from Monday at the Manx Museum to make way for a new TT exhibition.

It comes after a petition to keep the gallery was launched by local Lynn Mather, attracting over 3,100 signatures.

However MNH are continuing with their plans to replace the folk gallery with the TT exhibit opening in 2020.

Director Edmund Southworth has said that the folk gallery's space was the only one large enough to house the TT items, and that the folk artefacts will be carefully dismantled and preserved.
