More than 100 grill Post Office bosses on Ballasalla future

Post office bosses faced a grilling at the hands of the Ballasalla public on Friday.
More than 100 people attended a coffee morning at the church hall to find out more about the future of the village post office.
CEO Simon Kneen and vice-chair Tanya August-Hanson MLC took questions from those who came, including local commissioners and both constituency MHKs.
The current subpostmaster of the Ballasalla post office will step down in March, and the counter service is likely to be replaced with a self-service kiosk.
It’s part of the Post Office’s modernisation strategy, branded a cost-cutting exercise by critics.
Many were angry at the suggestion they’d have to go to other post offices, and a perceived lack of consultation:
