Extra £8m funding for DHSC approved by Tynwald

Tynwald has approved an extra £8m funding for the Department of Health and Social Care.

 

It follows Health Minister David Ashford MHK's request for additional finances in yesterday's sitting, where members of parliament voted for or against.

 

Mr Ashford appealed to Tynwald in December 2019, when he stated the DHSC had spent over £5.4m.

 

Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper put forward an amendment to the legislation, meaning that Mr Ashford's Department would in future submit a timeline and pre-planning to ensure the budget is not exceeded.
