Police in the North are seeking information regarding sheep in Lezayre attacked by dogs and some found dead in Sulby.
The Manx Farmer's Union issued a statement saying how a farmer came across the dogs attacking his sheep earlier today, describing the dogs as large springer type dogs - one was liver and white with a red collar and the second was a darker colour, possibly with patches of black or dark tan.
He was unable to catch the dogs and as he approached them they acted aggressively before running off in the direction of the Garey Ford.
The farmer is now in the process of trying to round up the sheep and assess them for injuries and was able to catch one dog.
Tim Johnston, President of the Manx National Farmers Union would like to remind all farmers that you are only legally allowed to shoot a dog if you catch it in the act of attacking or worrying your livestock , before you shoot the dog you must make every reasonable attempt to catch it first.
Police are also investigating several sheep found dead yesterday in the Sulby area.
Officers from the Northern Neighbourhood Policing Team are appealing for those who may have information on this incident to come forward.
Those who can help are asked to contact Ramsey Police Station on 812234
