Residents in Laxey against flood gate installation to hold protest this morning

A protest is taking place this morning in Laxey against the installation of a flood gate on Glen Road.

 

It follows the Department of Infrastructure releasing information to the public advising of how the new wall unit works are being carried out.

 

A new floodgate is to be installed as part of the works in approximately 10 weeks.

 

The protest, held by Laxey residents, some of whose homes were badly affected by the flooding in October last year, will begin at 9 am on Glen Road near to the wall.
