New bursary available for aspiring young musicians

Fri, 31 Jan 2020

Aspiring musicians are being reminded time is running out to apply for the annual Roz Kelly Music Bursary.

The fund was set up in 2018, thanks to the generous bequest of musician Roz Kelly, who passed away in 2015.

The bursary offers two students from the Island up to £1,000 each to help with their studies at a UK summer school.

Roz wanted to help young musicians to have the opportunity to participate in music.

Applications are open to Isle of Man residents aged 16 – 21 who are able to demonstrate their musical promise and enthusiasm through a written application and provide a written recommendation from a teacher or mentor.

The funding can be used towards the cost of travel and participation at a music summer school of their choice.

The closing date for applications is 11 February 2020.
