Electrical fault cause of house fire

Firefighters were called to tackle a house fire in Peel on Friday evening.

Two crews were sent the property in Queen Street at just after 10:30pm.

The resident of the property reported a power failure immediately followed by the smoke alarm sounding.

A fire quickly took hold within the electrical box situated in the hallway of the property which, in turn, began to spread to the roof space.

On arrival, crews wearing breathing apparatus isolated the electrical supply before extinguishing the fire.
