Motorsports events planned at Jurby Airfield will now be managed through the Department for Enterprise under a licence to occupy from the Department of Infrastructure.
It follows a recent procurement process for an organisation to manage Jurby Airfield being unsuccessful and terminated on Friday 31st January when the site returned to the control of the Department's Public Estates and Housing Division.
IOM Government said that a temporary arrangement has been put in place to ensure motorsports events can proceed while an organisation is found to manage the Government-owned facility.
The airfield will be available for motorsport events put on by an affiliated club of, and under a permit issued by a recognised governing body.
Bookings for non-motorsports events will not be taken during the interim period.
The Department for Enterprise said it does not have access to a calendar of existing events and organisers should email the Motorsports team on motorsport@gov.im as soon as possible and any organisation that has made a booking and paid in advance should contact the facility's previous managers to recover their payments.
The launch of a new procurement exercise will be announced on the Isle of Man Government’s procurement portal in due course.
