91-year-old woman dies in Peel flat fire and male injured

Police have confirmed that a flat fire in Peel on Wednesday evening resulted in a fatality.

 

The fire occurred on Battery Road, Peel.

 

In a statement online, IOM Constabulary said: 'Police can confirm that a 91-year-old female has died as a result of this incident.

 

'Additionally, a male from the same property is in a serious condition at Nobles Hospital receiving treatment.

 

'Police would like to pass their condolences to the family and request they are afforded privacy at this difficult time.'

 

Further to this Police ask that members of the public refrain from speculating on this incident as the Police and Fire Officers investigating are still looking into the cause.
