Inflation figures for January show that there was an increase of 2.1% since December.
Measured by the Consumer Price Index, it now stands at 2.6%.
IOM Government said that transport is the most significant contributor to the rate of inflation, responsible for 1.1% of the 12-month rate.
Airline fares, both from the Island and further afield have increased.
The cost of petrol and diesel is also higher than 12 months ago.
Clothing and footwear were slightly lower than 12 months ago, having fallen by 0.1% and inflation within Food and Non-alcoholic beverages decreased, having increased by 0.3% over 12 months.
