Police have taken to social media to clarify that an isolated incident which occurred this morning at St Ninian's Lower School, Douglas involved a knife.
Officers stated on the IOM Constabulary Media Page that to avoid the speculation that is taking place on some social media pages, police were asked to attend due to concerns that a pupil had a knife.
The Force said that whilst they were present, a Taser was not used and that a knife was recovered at the scene.
They also stated that SNHS staff 'did a great job and all pupils were kept safe.'
A pupil from the school is helping police with their enquiries and studying at the school is back to normal.
