A temporary speed limit will be in place on part of the Mountain Road from this weekend.
The Department of Infrastructure said it will be issued to enable TT related preparatory works.
Restrictions will be from Kate's Cottage/Keppel Gate ending just above the junction with the Creg Na Baa Back Road, with access to the Creg Na Baa Hotel still open.
From 9 am on Saturday 15th February to 4 pm Sunday 23rd February there will be a speed limit imposed between Keppel Gate and Hilberry, Onchan.
The limit will drop incrementally on both sides from 50mph to 40mph and then 30mph either side of the works area.
Two-way traffic lights will be erected during works in the area and the road will be reduced to a single lane at the worksite, with the lights removed at the end of the day.
On Monday 16th February the temporary traffic lights will be re-erected and work will resume.
The DOI said: 'It is anticipated that the work will take several days, and wherever possible the traffic lights will be removed outside of working hours.
'It is difficult to predict exactly how long these works will take as they may be affected by inclement weather. The length of the temporary speed limit has been chosen to allow for weather delays. If the work is completed before the 23rd the temporary speed limits will be lifted early.'
