Registrations are now open for the annual ‘Tourism Industry Day’.
Taking place on Tuesday 25th February at the Villa Marina, it will be hosted by the Visit Isle of Man Agency, an Executive Agency within the Department for Enterprise.
The event provides an opportunity for businesses within the tourism industry to find out more about the Island’s strategic direction for visitor growth.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to attend workshops designed to enhance business performance.
Accommodation providers, activity and attraction providers, restaurateurs and retailers are all encouraged to attend, however, any Isle of Man businesses with an interest in tourism and the visitor economy are encouraged to come along.
The main morning presentation will be led by Angela Byrne, Head of Visit Isle of Man, and Ranald Caldwell, Non-Executive Chairman of the Visit Agency, who will both deliver an overview of the agency’s strategy for 2020-2023 to increase visitor growth, and explain how the agency intends to promote and develop the Isle of Man as a quality, year-round visitor destination over the next three years.
Angela Byrne, Head of Visit Isle of Man Agency said: 'In recent years there have been significant changes in consumer behaviour, not least with the rise in the use of technology. It’s therefore vital the agency continues to develop effective partnerships with tourism trade and industry bodies to identify training needs and assistance with the provision of effective solutions.'
Informative workshops and sessions on key topics to enable tourism businesses to learn tips and tools in which to help develop their business will be conducted throughout the afternoon.
The Tourism Industry Day is free to attend and refreshments are provided throughout the day by accredited Taste Isle of Man members Wicked Wagon and The Alpine.
