Treasury Minister to present Budget 2020 to Tynwald

The Treasury Minister will present his 2020-21 Budget Statement to Tynwald this morning.

Alf Cannan MHK will present his document to members at the sitting in the Legislative Buildings in Douglas during proceedings beginning at 10:30 am.

Last year's 2019-20 Budget focused on taxpayers being £150 better off, or up to £300 better off for a married couple; the introduction of a National Insurance Holiday Scheme for employees who move to the Island for work and Manx students who return to the Island to work after completing their UK university courses, and benefits rising by 2.4%

There was also a New Community Fund to match-fund community projects supporting the Island's UNESCO biosphere status and an increase of £1 million for the Brexit Fund to £2.5m.
