Questions have been raised over a photo circulating on social media of a Coronavirus Triage Point trailer.

The NHS and Manx Government branded trailer is stationed at Noble's Hospital.

But what is it for?

Dan Davies is Chief Executive at the Department of Home Affairs. He confirmed the trailer is an infection control mechanism.

Replying to social media queries, he said: "If you are very unwell and you've arrived at the emergency department and your symptoms and travel history match those published by Public Health England. It's an infection control mechanism."

"It's standard procedure adopted from UK protocols. The trailer has a phone inside. If a person uses it, they will be seen by someone in protective equipment who can then decide next course of action. The trailer can then be decontaminated. Better than someone walk thru the ED!".

Every hospital in the UK has been ordered to set up “assessment pods” to keep suspected victims away from A&Es.

14 people have been tested on the Isle of Man for the virus - all tests have come back as negative.
