Travel & Self Isolation - What is being done at our Ports?

Wed, 18 Mar 2020

Regulations are now in place making it law for anyone arriving in to the Isle of Man, to ‘self isolate’ for 14 days due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

We asked the Isle of Man Government what they are doing at the Ports to ensure the law is complied with.

A spokesperson for Government told Energy FM News that a range of measures are in place so people are aware of their responsibilities.

They include:

  • Leaflets, posters and banners at the Airport and Sea Terminal
  • Leaflets on the ferries
  • On board announcements on aircraft
  • And all those checking in, leaving the Island will also be given a notice to make them of aware of the rules for any return journey.

Earlier this week the Health Minister, David Ashford, said that anyone caught breaking the rules on self isolation may face prosecution.

So far there are no confirmed cases of Covid-19 on the Island. (18/3/20 12:10)
