Students sent home after failing to social distance

Year 11 students at Ballakermeen High School have been sent home this lunchtime after failing to appreciate the importance of social distancing.

The school has written to parents on social media to say they have faced challenges due to staffing issues.

They say the decision was made in the best interest of their health, and the health of their families.

Police are asking for community support to prevent large gatherings of Year 11 students.

All schools will close at the end of the day due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
