GPs from across the Island are calling for people to listen to the Government's advice regarding coronavirus.
In a joint statement they say: "We need to do everything we can to stop the virus spreading."
"We need to keep each other safe. The only way to limit and slow down the spread of infection is to follow government advice."
"Aigh vie as cair vie. If we work together we can keep our island safe. Everyone must play their part: young and old, as individuals, as families. All of us must make the difference now."
Dr Justine Needham, a GP at Ramsey Group Practice, said “We are all deeply concerned about the coronavirus and it’s spread on our beautiful island. I make this heartfelt plea to all our patients, and indeed all residents of our island. Not just as a doctor, but as a mother, as a sister, as a daughter and as a wife. We need to stop the spread of this virus before it cripples our hospital and primary care clinics, kills our loved ones and destroys the community we love."
"The Isle of Man is usually such a safe place to be, but the only way to keep it that way, and help protect your own families and ours too is to follow the guidance. Stay safe, stay indoors, and if you have to leave the house for something essential stay at least two metres away from others. Wash your hands and hopefully if we all work together we can win through. The virus needs people to spread it. With your help, following the guidance we can stop it seeping further into our community.”
