Firefighters tackle house fire

Firefighters responded to a house fire in Port St Mary last night.

Crews from Port Erin were sent to the Upper Prom.

The fire was confined to the timber surrounding the bay window between the ground and first floor, and may have been caused by a heat gun used during renovation works earlier in the day.

Crews removed coving and skirting boards to isolate and remove damaged timber.

They were were in attendance for around one hour.
