Students currently unable to collect their possessions from universities and colleges in the UK are being asked to contact the Isle of Man Government.
Many who returned to the Island before border restrictions were introduced have been left in limbo and powerless to collect possessions, books and equipment.
Whilst some students have managed to use storage facilities and their universities have provided assistance, others in private rental accommodation are increasingly concerned about the attitude of some landlords.
The Isle of Man Government has received a number of enquiries from individuals and wants to assess the extent of the problem so it can plan to provide practical help and assistance.
Dr Alex Allinson MHK, Minister for Education, Sport and Culture, said: ‘We fully understand the concerns and frustration of our students who are separated from their belongings. We ask anyone is this position to get in touch so we can assess the extent of the problem and consider what help can be provided.’
If you might need help boxing and storing your belongings or have them shipped back to the Island please email your details and the university you attend to julie.keeble@gov.im this week.
