Fire Damages Swiss Chalet

The Swiss Chalet building at Glen Helen has been damaged by fire overnight.

The occupants were woken by the smoke alarms just after 1am this morning.

40 firefighters from stations in Peel, Kirk Michael and Douglas spent six hours tackling the blaze.

The occupants of the building, which is owned by DEFA, all escaped without injury and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
