The independent investigator leading a probe into the deadly outbreak of coronavirus at Abbotswood , has referred its findings to the police.
Expol has recommended that the constabulary now consider if ‘potential offences’ were committed at the nursing home.
Twenty individuals died after contracting the virus, a number which accounts for more than 80% of the Island’s Covid-19 death total.
It led to a government-commissioned investigation into the events at the Ballasalla residence, which has since closed.
Separate inquiries also led by the department of health and social care, which took over the care home in April, have been stopped.
A statement released this evening said ‘once the constabulary has considered the position, contact will be made with those directly involved.’
It added, no further comment will be made, as the investigations remain the subject of legal opinion.
