A-level students recieved their results across the Island yesterday.
The majority of students achieved the grades close to what they were expecting, however many students have had their grades reduced by the examination board. This has led to problems with subjects such as mathematics and science and head teachers have lodged appeals regarding this downgrading.
Indications from headteachers are that nearly 60% of pupils will take up a place at University off-island and 8% will take up a place at University College Isle of Man, whilst nearly 20% will be entering the employment sector.
More than 400 pupils received their A Level and Level 3 BTEC qualifications today, despite not sitting exams.
