40mph zone for St Marks

The Department of Infrastructure has announced a 40mph speed limit will be introduced on the approach to St Marks.

It follows concerns raised over speeding in the area.

A recent Government study recorded more than 8,000 vehicles broke the speed limit in the small village.

The study found more than 1,200 were 20mph over the limit, while one vehicle clocked 90mph.

St Marks Road will be closed from Monday 31st August between 9am and 4pm to allow road markings to re-painted.
