Residents returning to the Isle of Man may be allowed out of self-isolation after 8 days, it's been announced.
Those who wish to leave self-isolation early will be able to pay for a test on the seventh day of their quarantine.
From Monday (7 September), those who test negative after seven days in quarantine will be allowed out of their homes, however, there will still be restrictions.
Attendance at indoor venues including restaurants, cafes, pubs, gyms, theatres and cinemas will still be prohibited, with the restrictions set to be outlined in a modified direction notice following the return of a negative test.
It will enable people to return to work - but only if their employer consents and only if their role does not see them interacting with the public.
Essential shopping for food and medicines will also be allowed.
The early exit from quarantine is optional, meaning those who do not wish to pay for a test would have to continue for the remaining period of self-isolation under the current rules.
