The Chief Minister has rejected claims that charging returning residents for coronavirus tests hits the poorest in society.
It was announced yesterday that length of time in self-isolation can be reduced from 14 days to 8 from next week.
However, it would require you to pay £50 for a test.
If the result comes back negative, you will be allowed out to do essential shopping for food and medicines, but would still be prohibited from going to pubs, cafes, restaurants, theatres and cinemas.
Returning to work would be possible, providing your employer agrees, and only if your role doesn’t involve interacting with the public.
Those who don’t have a test must continue to quarantine for two weeks under the current rules.
