The Department of Infrastructure will begin work to introduced a 40mph zone in St Marks from today.
It follows concerns raised over speeding in the area.
A recent Government study recorded more than 8,000 vehicles broke the speed limit in the small village.
The study found more than 1,200 were 20mph over the limit, while one vehicle clocked 90mph.
St Marks Road will be closed from from 9am to 4pm each day between Ballagarey Methodist Chapel and Orrisdale Road until September 25 at the latest.
