The Manx Government has launched a consultation to help shape a landmark reform of the Island’s adoption laws.
A public consultation on proposals for a new Adoption Bill is now live.
The Government says it help pave the way for modern legislation designed to ensure that the welfare of the child is at the centre of every decision made by an agency or a court.
The proposals aim to bring Manx legislation in line with current best practice.
It is anticipated that the new legal framework will reduce delays in the adoption process so that children can live with their adoptive family at the earliest opportunity.
