Ammunition discovered amongst recycling

Police are urging people to dispose of ammunition safely.

It follows an incident at the Southern Amenity site where personnel sorting through the recycling came across ammunition.

The ammunition was safely collected by officers.

A force spokesperson said: "Ammunition is NOT recyclable and poses a real danger and needs to be disposed of safely and responsibly. Should you find any or have any unwanted ammunition, please call T- 631212 for advice and to arrange safe collection."
