Lifeboat launched to assist in search for a missing person

Douglas lifeboat were called out to assist the Coastguard with the search of a missing person in the early hours of this morning.

The all-weather lifeboat was launched in westerly force 6 to 7 winds.

They searched the Marine Drive from Douglas Head lighthouse to the Toll Gates and used parachute flares and the lifeboat’s searchlights.

They were stood down after 30 minutes as the missing person had been located safe and well elsewhere.
