Robinsons have completed a month-long fundraiser for Manx Breast Cancer
The team at Robinsons had a pink October this year, raising £1,500 for the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group through a special month of fundraising activities.
The fundraiser included the donation of 2,000 masks for patients travelling to appointments in the UK.
Sweet treats were a common theme through the month, led by Courtney Walker from Robinsons’ Telesales team. Courtney’s Staff Bake Sale on 16th October raised £229.20, with a number of colleagues joining in the baking effort.
During October, £1 from every sale of Pink Layer Cakes at Cooil Road went towards the charity. On Isle of Man Woman Pink Day (23rd October), Robinsons also teamed up with Noa Bakehouse and Shoprite to donate 50p from the sale of every product that was turned pink for the occasion.
A further £705 was raised by a £5 donation from the sale of every Pink Sapphire Bouquet through all of Robinsons’ outlets.
Janna Horsthuis, Managing Director, says, “Robinsons supports many local charities and the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group, along with all of them, are absolutely vital to our Island.
“Donating masks - with the help of Vannin Healthcare – and antibacterial sanitiser has been helped to make a difference not just for breast cancer patients but all cancer patients travelling to the UK for essential treatment, so we were very glad to help”.
