People are being reminded they still have time to submit their views regarding the development of mid-rent housing policy and eligibility criteria.
Mid-rent housing is designed to help those who may not be eligible for public sector housing to access a property which has a rental level above that of public sector, but below private market rental.
A pilot scheme has succeeded in providing a popular and effective choice, enabling people to save for their first home while renting. The Department of Infrastructure intends to develop the pilot into a permanent option, subject to the necessary approvals.
The purpose of the current consultation is to invite comments on the draft eligibility and allocation criteria, and its relevance and fairness.
Feedback will be considered before any scheme is finalised and taken to Tynwald.
Responses can be submitted using the Government consultation hub at https://www.gov.im/consultations.gov or alternatively, written comments can be emailed to carrie.yates@gov.im or by post to Public Estates and Housing Division, Department of Infrastructure, 1st Floor, Sea Terminal, Douglas, IM1 2RF.
The deadline for responses is Thursday 10 December.
