Tributes are being paid to Isle of Man war veteran Hector Duff who has passed away at the age of 101.
The D-Day veteran passed away peacefully earlier today.
In a tribute, the Onchan branch of the Royal British Legion said: "We send our heartfelt condolences to all his family and many many friends. Thank you Hector for all you have done for our Country and our Community, you are a true legend who we will miss dearly."
Mr Duff served with the 7th Armoured Division, nicknamed the Desert Rats due to their service in North Africa, between 1940 and 1945.
The veteran, who also took part in the D-Day landings training as a policeman after the war, was awarded the Military Medal for bravery.
