Road Policing Unit to lead Hector Duff's funeral cortège tomorrow

The funeral of Manx war veteran Hector Duff will take place tomorrow.

The Island's Road Policing Unit has announced they will be leading the funeral cortege.

Mr Duffs funeral will take place at 1pm on Thursday at St Peters Church in Onchan.

The service invite only and parking will be restricted on Church Road for those attending the service.

People who wish to pay their respects are being asked to line the streets:

The cortege will leave Ballachurry Avenye in Onchan at 12:50pm and travel down Wybourn Drive turning left onto Governors Road, through Main Road inOnchan turning right into Church Road.

Following the conclusion of the Service at around 1:45pm, Mr Duff will be taken to Douglas Borough Crematorium.

The route is as follows:
• From Church Road turn left onto Groudle Road
• Turn left into Windermere Drive and proceed to Whitebridge
Road
• Turn left at Whitebridge Road and proceed through Main
Road Onchan
• Governors Road onto Glencrutchery Road
• Arrive at Douglas Borough Crematorium
