Circuit breaker measures to be introduced

Chief Minister Howard Quayle has confirmed the Isle of Man will enter a 'circuit breaker' following an increase in coronavirus cases.

New measures will be introduced at 00:01 from Thursday.

Mr Quayle confirmed it was currently unknown if current cases are of the new variant seen in the UK.

Restrictions will include:

  • No gatherings outside with those outside your immediate household.
  • All pubs, restaurants, bars and nightclubs must close.
  • Schools and nurseries ordered to close.
  • Essential shops, hardware stores and garden centres will be allowed to remain open.
  • Face coverings will be required when using public transport.
  • Face coverings strongly advised when outside of home.
