All pupils and staff at St Mary’s Primary School who are potentially affected following a child at the school testing positive for COVID-19 have now been contacted by the COVID-111 service.
All the households contacted have been offered testing and remain in self-isolation. Anyone connected with the school who has not been contacted today no longer needs to self-isolate. A number of swabs have already been taken, with more booked in for tomorrow. Test results will be announced once known and further contact tracing will take place as required.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle MHK, said: “My sincere thanks goes to the staff and pupils of St Mary’s Primary School, and to others in their households, for their calmness and co-operation today. Our COVID-111 team have done a tremendous job, working through the day to contact all those who may be affected by yesterday’s positive test result.
“I know today and tomorrow bring uncertainly and that those affected will be understandably anxious, but we will very soon have a much clearer picture of what we are dealing with.
“I will of course keep the public fully updated on developments.”
