Headteacher urges parents to keep children at home

One of the Island's secondary schools has appealed to parents to keep their children at home where possible, even if they are eligible to attend a 'Hub' School.

Chris Coole, the Head at St Ninians, has said that although Hubs operate for children of key workers and vulnerable, parents should keep them home if it is possible for them to carry out remote learning.

Mr Coole said that Hubs still require a number of staff to be present and the more people present means the more chance of any virus being passed on.

The School does have a limited supply of face masks, however Mr Cooil has appealed to parents to provide their children with their own face covering, if they can.
